Mrs. Joseph Tadych, Sr., 67, died Friday night at the Holy Family hospital
where she had been a patient for one week.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o’clock from the Wattawa,
Urbanek and Schlei funeral home, and at 9 o’clock at the Sacred Heart Catholic
church with the Rev. Louis Schorn celebrating the requiem mass. Burial will be
in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Tadych, nee Anna Monka, was born October 18, 1876 in Two Rivers. On
November 12, 1895, she was married to Joseph Tadych. The couple moved to
Manitowoc shortly after their marriage. Their home is at 1509 Clark street.
The husband, nine daughters, five sons, four brothers and two sisters survive.
The daughters are Mrs. Nels Olson, Mrs. Julia Waegli, Mrs. Del Riebe, Mrs.
Leonard Bashaw, Mrs. Steve Kakuk, and Miss Elizabeth Tadych of this city; Mrs.
Louis Lewandowski, Green Bay; Mrs. Emma Rohl, Two Rivers, route 2; and Mrs.
Clarence Wellner, Manitowoc Rapids; sons are Joseph Jr., Paul, William and
Clarence of Manitowoc and Alois of Chicago.
Brothers who survive are Joseph Monka of this city, Frank and John Monika of
Two Rivers; Alex Monka, Rapid City, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Gagnon
and Mrs. Peter Gates, Two Rivers. Sixty-six grandchildren and 8 great grand-
children also survive.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home Sunday evening after 7 o’clock.
The rosary will be recited Monday evening at 8 o’clock.
