"Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Jansen of 129 Mount Vernon avenue, Patchogue, were guests of honor at a dinner party at the Casa Bordone restaurant in Coram Sunday in celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. A dance and entertainment followed. Bruno's orchestra furnished the music. The golden wedding observance was arranged by one of Mr. and Mrs. Jansen's daughters, Mrs. Mary Agius of New York City. The family party included Mr. and Mrs. William Porter of Wantagh, Mrs. Agius of New York City, John Barry and Mr. and Mrs. John Jansen and children of Patchogue. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Matthew M. Cass, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul F. Sanacora and family of New York City; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest LaMontia and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lionti of Brooklyn; Mr. and Mrs. Vito Bruno of Forest Hills, Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore Vitale and family of Kew Gardens, Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore Nicodena and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Russo of the Bronx. Bouquets of flowers decorated the table and a large wedding cake was the centerpiece."
Obituary - Mrs. Marie Jansen, 80, of 2595 Seminole Avenue, Seaford Harbor, died at her residence December 17. Born in Holland, she lived in Seaford Harbor for the last four years and formerly resided on Vernon Avenue, North Patchogue. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Agius of Seaford Harbor; two sons, John of Patchogue and Jacob of East Patchogue; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pettit Funeral Home, the Rev. Stuart W. Van Cott, pastor of the Patchogue Congregational Church, officiating. Interment followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
