Uncle Zach Burton died at the age of 96 years. His father was a soldier in the Black Hawk War. William Z. Burton died at the home of a son, J. W.Burton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Sept 9. The body was shipped to Tuscumbia, Mo. and funeral services were held as requested and burial was made at the Old Simon Bear Cemetery on the Carrol Abbert farm. He was born in Adair County, Ky, Jan 21, 1830. He was reared on a farm and educated in the schools of Kentucky. His father was a native of Ireland. He came to Miller Coumty and settled in 1851. In May that year he wed Eliza Wilson, and soon after pruchased a farm and began freeing it of timber and getting it under cultivation. In 1852 he purchased a 400 acre farm. Eight children survive: J. W., R.F., Zach, Sam and O.E. Burton, all of Tulsa; Mrs. M. E. Peterson, Granite City Ill., Mrs. Herman Luckenhoff of Meta Mo., Lucy Stark of Tuscumbia, Mo, and Mrs. Herman Lueckenhoff of Meta Mo..
