She lived a simple modest life good old fashioned core values. She believed in a hard-working, honest and spiritual life. In her early working career she often worked two jobs to care for and provide a parochial education for her two girls and three boys. Betty was a people person who made many good friends while working for the Erie School District.
In 1968, her husband, Larry succumbed to pancreatic cancer and on her own she raised five children. By example, she demonstrated how to persevere thru difficult times and manage a young household. she was a strong, devoted wife & mother who never lost her faith in God. Betty was a dedicated parishioner & volunteer at many events at St. Stanislaus. Back in the day, she loved going to weekend football games with her sons at the Academy (Veterans) Stadium. In 1990, she lost her best friend & oldest daughter, Basia, who at the age of 49 lost her battle with cancer. Betty again met the challenges with determination and perseverance. She loved her grandchildren and their children & enjoyed attending their activities whether on the sports field or up on the stage. The past two years Betty had some setbacks, as she faced the difficulty of moving out of her home, but she would want her neighbors to know how much she appreciated their genuine care & concern for her. She was truly a family oriented person and that included her extended members, the needy and less fortunate who she always supported. Betty liked conversation, especially if she happened upon members of the clergy as she took pride in maintaining her knowledge of the diocese. To know Betty, you would know her candidness and in her own words describe herself as "I call it as I see it:, She thoroughly enjoyed her "gallivanting" around the city & going out with the family for dinner and she looked forward to her weekly lunch outings, and cemetery & peninsula visits. Betty will be sadly missed but she can now rejoice in her long awaited reunion with Larry an Basia.
