Carl E. Wallin, 87, Nisswa, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

He was born Oct. 11, 1915, in Grove City to Peter E. and Oline C. (Andersen) Wallin. He served as an Army Air Force corporal in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He married Myrtle Hardy on June 20, 1957, in Lake Hubert. He farmed in the Nisswa area all his life. He was a charter member of the Nisswa Legion Post No. 627.

Survivors include his wife, Brainerd; five sons, Terry Wallin, Brainerd, Peter, Don and Thomas Wallin, all of Nisswa, and William Wallin, Pequot Lakes; two daughters, Bev Kramp, Pine River, and Barb Worcester, Park Rapids; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A son, Timothy Wallin; a grandchild; four brothers, Albin, Richard, Oscar and Victor Wallin; and five sisters, Hilda Wallin, Esther Luther, Lillie Anderson, Minnie Wallin and Helen Wallin, died earlier.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Community Church in Nisswa with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa. Military rites will be provided by the Nisswa American Legion Post No. 627.
