1) Alice's mother has been incorrectly linked. Lillian would have been her stepmother, who ended up raising her after Alice's mother, Mary Alice Barker Armstrong, died just a few days after childbirth. Lillian was William F. Armstrong's second wife, but not Alice's mother.
