MRS. BOYD, 87, DIES IN SOUTH
Mrs. Robert Boyd, 87, former Webster City resident, died Saturday at Hollywood, Florida, where she had been spending the winter with a daughter. She had been in ill health for several years.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. M.V. Chastain officiating and with burial on the family lot in Graceland Cemetery.
Ida Brock, daughter of James and Rebecca Brock, was born Feb. 20, 1867, on a farm in the Saratoga community near Webster City. She was reared and educated in that community.
She was united in marriage Dec. 24, 1884 to Robert Boyd. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd farmed in Hamilton County for several years before moving to Webster City. Mr. Boyd was custodian at Lincoln High school for many years.
Mr. Boyd died August 31, 1932, and since his death she had been making her home with her son and daughter in Des Moines.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Clyde: two daughters, Opal and Mrs. Claude Spahn; by her parents; two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by one son and one daughter, Claude Boyd of Des Moines, and Mrs. R.W. (Ethel) Messerd of Des Moines; four grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Nellie Bringolf and Mrs. Laura Sharkey, both of Webster City, and Charley Brock of Lake City, Iowa.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
