Mr. Dossey was born December 10, 1944, in Gatesville, Texas to the late Melvin and Mary Dossey. He Moved to Abilene in 1957, graduating from Abilene High School in 1963. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Dossey was a mechanic and spent his last seventeen years at the local John Deere until his retirement. He and Rebecca Grant married in 1970.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Rebecca Dossey of Abilene; a son, Philip Dossey of Houston; a daughter, Julie Nelson and husband, Cameron of Las Vegas; two brothers, Howard Dossey of Abilene and Bennie Dossey of Lake Stamford; and a granddaughter, Kairi Ann Nelson
Mr. Dossey was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Larry and Clifford Dossey.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th Street.
