An area resident most of his life, he was a retired tractor trailer driver for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine (Ewald) Howard and Joseph Howard, Sr.
Survivors include his wife Mary; five sons, Philip, John, Edward, Richard and Michael; two daughters, Mary Clarke and Jacqueline Wright; two brothers, Charles and James; one sister Joan Vaino; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services at the John Gormley Funeral Home, 2706 Atlantic Ave., Atlantic City. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
