Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 following the visitation at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery in Marshalltown.
Jim was born March 17, 1952 in Marshalltown to Anthony Paglia and Connie Stotts Paglia. Jim attended Marshalltown High School where he was an excellent baseball player and also participated in football. Jim was a member of the Masonic DeMolay before he joined the United States Marine Corp in 1977 and advanced to the rank of Sargent. While stationed in London he met and married Bernadette Ballard. They moved back to Marshalltown and later divorced but they had always remained friends. After his discharge from the Marines he worked with his father in the construction business until he was forced to quit due to health issues but he always helped out his family on projects. Jim loved NASCAR, animals and old war movies and music. Jim lived his life as he pleased and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his father Tony, sisters Mickie Paglia and Angie (Mike) McKee and brother Greg (Silvia) Paglia. Nieces and nephews Robert McNeely, Bryce (Shawn) Leavy, Tim Leavy, Jennifer Leavy Westphal (Ben) and several great nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his grandmother Faye Kenney and mother Connie.
