Clayton was born in the Marlow community of Milam County, Texas, to the late Clyde Harris and Edith Clara (Quillion) Baker. He was a retired equipment foreman for BFW Construction Company, and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise in 2005.
Survivors include sons, Terry Wesley Baker, of Geronimo, and Clayton Eugene Baker, of Waco; daughter, Tammie Grimsley, of Rosanke; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Bytha Ann Thielepape, of Buda, and Edith Clydean Lynch, of College Station; and many other relatives and numerous friends.
