He was born in Lincoln County, son of the late John Frank and Mattie Helena Garner Bradshaw, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Louise Mauney Bradshaw.
He was retired from J.P. Stevens in Stanley, served in the US Navy during World War II, and was a member of Alexis Baptist Church since the age of 10; where he had served as a Deacon, Youth Choir Leader, Sunday School teacher, and groundskeeper.
