Oil City, LA – Funeral services celebrating the life of Robby "Pop" Jetton, age 60 will be held at 9:00 AM Friday, August 17, 2012 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home with Rev. Kent Rhoads, pastor of the United Pentecostal Church in Oil City, LA officiating. Interment will follow in the Gray Cemetery, Gray, TX. The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday, August 16th from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Jetton was born in Marshall, TX on September 9, 1951 to Calvin and Majoldean Jetton and passed away on August 13, 2012 in Shreveport, LA after a lengthy illness. "Pop" served in the U. S. Air Force and worked in the oil field over 35 years. He loved what he did and had many great customers and great friends. He loved hunting, fishing, food, family, joking and loved to make people laugh. He will be greatly missed.
"Pop" is preceded in death by his parents: Calvin and Majoldean Jetton. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rita Jetton of Oil City, LA, his sons, Casey Jetton of Dilley, TX, Jason Jetton of Mooringsport, LA and his daughter, Cynthia Jetton of Blanchard, LA, five grandchildren, Courtney Jetton, Dawson Jetton, Amber Jetton, Megan Jetton and Jasmine Jetton. He is also survived by his sister, Dusky McGee and husband, Kim of Mooringsprt, LA, brother, Sid Jetton of Oil City, LA, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Honoring "Pop" as pallbearers will be Troy Nester, Devin Jetton, Bobby Jetton Briggham Henderson, Justin Jetton and Jay Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Massey, Kenneth Hopkins and Rex Moody.
