In April of 1912, Mrs. Appleton and two of her sisters were aboard the maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic. All three ladies survived the sinking on April 15, 1912.
Following the disaster, Mrs. Appleton returned to her home in New York where she lived out the rest of her life.
