PERU - Bennie H. Higdon, 69, of 384 W. Fifth St., died at 1 a.m. Thursday in his residence. He was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Litchfield, Ky., to Jess and Emma Blanton Higdon. He was married, July 12, 1946, to Loletta Jarrance Higdon, who survives. He was employed at U.S. Gypsum, Wabash. He was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving are four sons, Robert, Peru, James, Wabash, Marvin, Amboy, and Bennie, Kokomo; two daughters, Marie Baker, Peru, and Pat LaCoss, Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Sudie Griffith, Litchfield, Ky., Alena French, Louisville, Ky., and Maggie Quiggins, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Services, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
