Mrs. A. J. Cowser Dead.
Mrs. A. J. Cowser, who lived at 28 South Congress, died at 7:15 o'clock Wednesday night at St. Mary's Hospital.
Funeral arrangements have not been made.
Mary Alice Craig, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. Craig, was born July 17, 1879, in Blanderville (sic), Ill., and moved with her parents the same year to Burlingame, Kansas. [illegible] was spent around Americus and she moved to Emporia in 1915. She was married to Frank G. Stephens in Council Grove in 1896 and he preceded her in death. In February, 1921, she married A. J. Cowser, at Cottonwood Falls.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; two sons, William C. Stephens, of Tenino, Wash., and Clarence Stephens, of Olympia, Wash.; five daughters, Mrs. Elva Foster, Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. Frances D. Barnes, Dodge City; Mrs. Alice M. Evans, 822 Lawrence; Mrs. Carolyn E. Irvin, Missoula, Mont., and Mrs. Lois L. Evans, of Oakland, Calif.; two brothers, Mack Craig and Albert Craig, of Americus; a sister, Mrs. Ella Wagner, Kansas City, Mo.; one stepson, six stepdaughters, seven granddaughters, 15 grandsons, 22 great-grandchildren, [illegible] step-great-grandchildren.
