Mary Esther Bauer, 92, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 20, 2012 at 9:20 a.m. at the Sunnyview Home and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born February 3, 1920 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Harry Elmer Bauer and Grace Lucetta Maharg Bauer.
Miss Bauer was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church. She was the Manager of the Butler Credit Bureau. Miss Bauer was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Soroptimists and the Association for the Blind.She enjoyed knitting, philanthropy to the YMCA and Habitat for Humanity and singing in the church choir.
Miss Bauer is survived by one sister Dorothy (Bauer) Briggs of Ohio; one sister-in-law, Mae D. Bauer of Butler, PA; two nieces, Roberta (Bauer) Henkel and her husband William of Hudson, OH, and Esther Ann (Briggs) Neumann of OH; two nephews, Roger Briggs and his wife Marcia of Ephrata ,WA; and Louis Briggs and his wife Susan of Sayre, PA; eighteen grand nieces and nephews; "the very special cousin who has been like a daughter over the past 30 years", Beverly Bachman of Butler, PA.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Donald M. Bauer, and also by one niece Marilyn Bauer Evan.
Friends will be received Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Reverend Clark Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
