Mrs. Sallie Grubb Asher, 79, of Scottsville, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 13.
She was born in Ashe County Sept. 21, 1903, a daughter of the late Dave and Lou Shepherd Grubb.
Mrs. Asher is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Jean) Winkler of Boone; four sons, Harold Absher of Wytheville, Va., Ray Absher of Taylorsville, Max Absher of Laurel Springs and Larry Absher of Elkin; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Lowman of Nathans Creek and Mrs. Ruth Perry of Jefferson; and one brother, John Grubb of Piney Creek.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Thursday morning at Mount Zion Methodist Church in Scottsville.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Badger's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
