Raymond N. Deavor, 47, 302 Spring Garden St., was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident Saturday morning on Route 34, South Middleton Township, Cumberland County.
Mr. Deavor was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Hustontown, Fulton County, son of Harry R. and Pauline Newman Deavor, R.R. 1, St. Thomas. He was a 1946 graduate of the former St. Thomas High School, and was employed by C.C. Kottcamp and Son, Inc., York, presently working on the rebuilding of the Carlisle Plaza. Mr. Deavor was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Harrisburg; Elks Lodge of Carlisle, and a former member of Hustontown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hazel C. Rotz Deavor; his parents; two brothers and a sister: Earl L., Waynesboro; Ralph H., Chambersburg, and Mrs. Robert (Rosaline) Alleman, R.R. 1, St. Thomas. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the G. Book Roth Funeral Home, Walnut Bottom Road at Belvedere Street. The Rev. Charles F. Tolbert will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens.
