William Joseph Dash, retired General Telephone dispatcher, died at Erie Veterans Administration Hospital Saturday afternoon. He was sixty-six. A telephone company employe of 37 years, he retired in 1960 and moved to San Leandro, California. He became ill a week ago in Erie while visiting members of his family here. He was born in Erie March 31, 1898, to the late Albert and Catherine Maher Dash. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Erie Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marion Froess Dash; two daughters, Mrs. George (Arlene) Russell and Mrs. Ralph (Clarice) Galvin, both of Erie; a son, Robert J. Dash of San Leandro; and nine grandchildren, Timothy, Susan and Christopher Russell; Patrick, Kevin, Debra and Staci Galvin; and William and Eugene Dash. Friends may call at the Kloecker Funeral Home, 215 W. 25th, Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. The family will be present from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer services Tuesday will be at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Requiem Mass at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
