Mrs. Fern V. Cooper, 69, 1403 W. Jackson St., an advertising department employe of The Muncie Evening Press and Muncie Star, died Tuesday night at her home after a long illness. She joined the Muncie Star in 1923 and retired in 1956.
She leaves two sons, Don of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Darrell of Muncie; a sister, Miss Ruby Current of Muncie; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cooper was a native of Henry County but had lived in Muncie most of her life. She was a member of the Corinth EUB Church.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Meeks Mortuary. The Rev. Lewis Weber Gishler, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate and burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 3 p.m. Thursday or any time before the service on Friday.
