Horace C. Henry gave King County Anti-Tuberculosis Leage a tract of land of more than 34 acres located north of Seattle. Firland Sanatorium opened 2 May 1911 with two patients, a superintendent and a nurse. At first named Henry Sanatorium, it was later changed to Firland.
