Davis was born in Wister, Indian Territory to Jeremiah "Jerry" Folsom and Amanda Williams Folsom. He had one brother Eugene J Folsom, and step sisters.

Davis worked as a carpenter at the IHS/PHS Indian Hospital since 1938, helping build the now-retired hospital structure.

Davis and his wife, Annie Mae, were faithful servants and helped build several Methodist churches including James Chapel and James-Folsom Church where the James-Folsom Cemetery is located.

Davis was survived by his wife, Annie Mae Jackson Folsom, his son Cooper Jacob and wife Lucille, his daughter, Juanita June and Norman Jefferson. He has four grandchildren, Harry Dale, Cooper Eugene, Linda Kay, and Nancy Ann, and several great-grandchildren.
