Chester Woodland Adams, Sr was the third child of four children born to the late Artemus Adams and Thelma Keatts Adams of Bryan, Texas on April 13, 1927 He lived a life filled with love for his family, devotion to his career and commitment to his friends.

He spent hus formative years in Bryan, Texas where he was an energetic student in the Bryan Public School System. He attended Washington Elementary School and E. A Kamp High School. After graduation from Kemp High School he applied to and was accepted at Lincoln University in Philadelphia. With the advent of the Korean War he felt it imperative to serve his country in battle. He was commissioned to the Korean War for two years and later stationed in the continental United States for two years. He received an honorable discharge and returned to Lincoln University to continue his studies as well as Prairie View A&M University in Texas. While at Lincoln he used his great vocal talents to sing in the college choir and the college special quartet as a baritone singer.

Chester was a great servant of God and committed himself to a life of faith by first uniting with Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age. After being baptized by the late Reverend R. Shivers, he began singing in the church choir While in college in Philadelphia he united with the Mount Olive Baptist Church, where the late Reverend G Sheppard was Pastor He continued to spread joy by singing in that church choir After moving to Dallas, Texas he united with the Good Street Baptist Church, Reverend Dr CAW Clark Pastor He sang in the Ollie Lee Scruggs Sanctuary Choir for many years under the direction of Mrs. Scruggs. He worked with the brotherhood, and was a faithful, active and supportive member of the Miller King Bible Class. He was a faithful member until his demise. His life's work testifies to has faith in God and hus love of all mankind.

At the top of his list of great events is the manage to his soul mate Estelle Mitchell in 1950 A union that lasted for 56 years until his recent death. They were blessed with two children. His son Chester Woodland Adams, Jr preceded him in death. His daughter Den Hooper currently lives in Dallas Texas, and has been like an Angle in helping her Mom care for him during his illness. A dutiful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, be cherished his family and loved his grandchildren.

Chester believed in hard work, he had great tenacity and as such he accepted a job with the United States Postal Service. He worked there for over 37 years and retired with distinction. His co-workers recognized him as one of the most productive letter camer with a style very seldom seen. He loved work, but, he loved retirement better. He became an avid reader and especially enjoyed political history and working cross word puzzles.

Chester had an extensive family His parents, one brother Arthur Adams and a sister Juanita Benford expired before his demise. He is survived by his faithful and devoted wife Estelle M. Adams, a loving daughter Denise Adams Hooper; and two loving twin grandchildren, Miya Hooper and Sherard Hooper; brother Artemus Adams (Dorothy); nieces. Kim Adams, Sandra Everhart (Claude); Cynthia Benford, Linda M. Benford Walker, nephew, Artemus Howard Adams, great nieces. Miesha Everhard, Tarra Walker. and Tamara Benford, great nephew Cedric Benford, a godson, Thomas Kimble and many loving relatives and friends.
