DR. L. L.SIMMONS FORMER MACON COUNTIAN DIES
Westmoreland, Tenn., July 25-(Special)-Funeral services were conducted at Greensboro, N. C., Wednesday for Dr. Lawson L. Simmons, 65, noted eye, ear, nose and throat specialist of that city and native Macon countian, who died at his home in Greensboro, Monday
Dr. Simmons was born near Eulia, east of Westmoreland, the son of J. M. and Mary Sullivan Simmons. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee, and later took a post-graduate course at a New Orleans University. Afterward he studied in London and at other European universities. He practiced his profession in this section for several years and, later studied abroad, located in Greensboro, N. C., about twenty-five years ago. Besides his wife, Mrs. Mae Walker Simmons of Greensboro, he is survived by five brothers, D. E. Simmons of Westmoreland, D. P. Simmons of Castalian Springs, Will Simmons, of Cross Lanes, in Macon County; A. B. Simmons of Louisville, Ky., and C. J. Simmons of Bowling Green, Ky., and three sisters, Mrs. Sam Creasy of Willard, Miss Nelle Simmons of Cross Lanes and Mrs. Ida Hall of Gallatin.
