Rites scheduled Monday for Mrs. Edith M. Baker

The funeral for Edith M. Baker is 1:30 p.m. Monday at Pioneer Presbyterian Church here, with the Rev. Marilyn Sandin officiating; Spring burial will be in the Chatfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker, 97, of Chatfield, a retired housekeeper and former farm homemaker, died Friday at Chosen Valley Care Center.

The former Edith McConville was born August 14, 1887, in rural Wykoff, and maried Sidney Baker on December 8, 1909, in Wykoff. The couple farmed in the Fillmore, Wykoff, and Chatfield areas until his death on January 11, 1941. She was then employed as a housekeeper in Lewiston, Rochester, and Chatfield until retiring, and resided at the home of her son Harold in Chatfield from 1967 until entering the nursing home two years ago.

Survivors, besides her son here, include another son, Lloyd of Duluth; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
