Mrs. S.D. Baker Passes Away

The many friends of Mrs. S.D. Baker were grieved on Tuesday of last week when they learned that she had passed away at the Colonial hospital in Rochester. Mrs. Baker was taken to the hospital about two weeks ago with a ruptured appendix. She seemed to be recovering when she was stricken with pneumonia.

The remains were brought to the Baker home near Fillmore Wednesday and the funeral was held the following day, December 15th at one o'clock from the house. Rev. Midkiff of Chatfield had charge of the services.

Mrs. Baker, nee Eva Mosher, was born in Fillmore County on September 9, 1867, and spent her entire life in this vicinity. On March 13, 1885, she was united in marriage to Sidney D. Baker.

The deceased was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister, and neighbor. Her passing leaves the home lonely and desolate. The loved ones will long to hear her cheerful voice and gentle footsteps. Mrs. Baker will not only be missed by the family but also by her host of friends.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Sidney Jr. and Merrill and one daughter, Mrs. May Aldeen all of near this village, two sisters, Mrs. Helen Johnson of Winthrop, S. Dak. and Mrs. Chas. Singer of Pacific Beach, Calif., one brother, George Mosher who resides near Fillmore and six grandchildren.

Interment was made in the Chatfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker was a member of the Methodist Church and also a member of the Eastern Star lodge.

We extend sympathy to the bereaved ones.

The relatives attending the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. Homer Coons of Austin, and Ed Baker and wife of Minneapolis.

The pallbearers were: John McGhie, John McCollun, Wm. Manley, Mike Ferguston, Frank and Will Dudek.
