Mrs. Lena Berge, 90, of Rt. 1, Valders, died Friday evening at Maple Crest Nursing Home where she had been a resident about a year and a half.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, the Rev. Robert Onkka officiating. Burial will be in Our Savior Cemetery, Valders.

The former Lena Evenson was born Oct. 15, 1875, in Brown County, the daughter of the late Christ and Caroline Helgeson Evenson.

She was married to John Berge June 26, 1896, at Valders and the couple farmed in the Town of Liberty for about 40 years. Her husband died in 1944.

Mrs. Berge was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church women's organization.

She is survived by two sons, Kendall of Rt. 1, Cato and Mark of Rt. 1 Valders; four daughters, Mrs. Irene McGovern, Miss Clara Berge, and Mrs. Stella Gansberg of Lake Forest, Ill., and Mrs. Ingrid Albertson of Milwaukee; three brothers, Clarence and Elmer Evenson of Valders and Even Evenson of Sheldon, N.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Saunders of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Sophia Nelson of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Two daughters preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the Farley Funeral Home, Valders, where the casket will remain until it is taken to the church at 11 a.m. Monday
