FLOYD EVENSON

Floyd R. Evenson, 72 (photo), of 321 N. Calumet Dr., Valders, died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Carl Peters will officiate and burial will be in Our Savior Cemetery, Valders.

Mr. Evenson was born March 22, 1902, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Olaf and Mary Thornson Evenson. He attended Manitowoc schools and was graduated from Manitowoc Business College.

He married Anita Horstman Nov. 7, 1928, at Trinity Lutheran Church at Liberty.

He was a former president of Valders State bank and was with the organization for 44 years, retiring Jan. 31, 1970. He was a secretary of Valders Improvement Assn., charter member and past president of Valders Lions Club, past member of Valders School Board and Manitowoc County Schools Committee and held numerous church offices.

Survivors include his wife, a son (private) and two brothers, Elroy, of Milwaukee and Wallace, of Cato. A sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, after 5 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday and at the church from noon until the time of service.
