Ole Helgeson, a pioneer resident, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Torrison, early Tuesday morning after a lingering illness of more than a year, at the age of 75 years.
Born in Valders, Norway, March 1849, he came to Manitowoc a young man of seventeen years, in 1866.
On May 17, 1873, he was married to Miss Tostenson who preceded him in death three years ago.
For many years, Mr. Helgeson was engaged in farming. About twelve years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Helgeson retired from farming and had since resided in Valders.
The deceased is survived by eight children who are Mrs. Alfred Reinertson and Mrs. Emma Torrison of Valders, Mrs. T. Jensen of Kempton, N. Dak., Mrs. Harry Harlow of Norwood, Ohio, Mrs. H. Londstrom, Mrs. Alfred Halderson, Henry and Isi of Chicago, also twenty grandchildren and one great grandchild.
