OLD SETTLER AT VALDERS IS CLAIMED TODAY
Mrs. Ole Thompson Helle passed away at the home of her son, Oscar Thompson, at Valders yesterday, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held from the home Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock to Our Savior’s Church, where Rev. O. K. Espeseth will officiate.
The deceased was born in Norway March 7, 1850, being 77 years of age at the time of death, and came to this country at the age of 9, settling with her parents near Valders, where she has since lived.
Forty years ago, she was married to Mr. Thompson, who passed away sixteen years ago. Seven children and sixteen grandchildren survive.
The daughters are Mrs. Gelane Egeland, Mrs. Norman Samuelson, and the Misses Emma and Tillie Thompson, all of Chicago, Mrs. Albert Sanderson of Sawyer and Mrs. Elmer Halverson of Madison Station, and a son, Oscar of Valders, with whom she made her home for the last few years.
