FARMER DIES NEAR VALDERS
Thorval Hougen, 77, Will Be Buried On Friday Thorval Hougen, 77, died Tuesday at the home of his son, Christian, near Valders. A retired farmer, Mr. Hougen had made his home with his son for the last year.
The body is at the Berge funeral home and will be removed to the Christian Hougen residence Friday at 10 a.m. The funeral will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the residence and later from Our Savior's Church, Valders. The Rev. O. K. Espeseth will officiate.
Mr. Hougen was born in the Town of Liberty on Sept. 2, 1859. He married Julia Berge Thompson in 1877. Mrs. Thompson preceded him in death. The survivors are five daughters, Mrs. R.M. Olbeter, Clayton, N.M., Mrs. J. Fleming, Hollister, Okla., Mrs. Mabel DeVall, Fort Atkinson, Wis., Mrs. Bennett Torrison, Valders, and Mrs. Henry Miller, Milwaukee; four sons, Christian and Bennett, Valders, Anton, Texline, Tex., and Henry, Manitowoc; two brothers, Tollef Hougen of Manferd, N.D., and Andrew Hougen, Agoma (sic) , Wis., and 16 grandchildren.
