ANDRES KNUTSON

Andrew Knutson, 79, of Rt. 1, Valders, died early Tuesday morning at his home following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran (Our
Saviors) Church, Valders, with the Rev. Robert A. Onkka officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born Sept. 28, 1882, at Arendall, Norway, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jens Knutson. He served as first mate on a coal and ore boat on the Great Lakes and farmed in the Town of Liberty for
40 years. He married Julia Snortum Feb. 10, 1909, at Milwaukee. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a member of the Roselawn (Town of Liberty) School Board.
Among survivors are his wife; one son, Alfred, of Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Alex Sherven of Rt. 1, Valders, Bernice of Manitowoc and Mrs. Donald Williams of Menominee Falls, Wis.; two brothers, Knute of Seattle, Wash., and Chris of Milwaukee; and seven grand- children. He was preceded in death by one sister, two brothers, one daughter and one son.
