Funeral services for Mrs. Otto Nelson, 87, of Valders, who died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Robert Onkka will officiate and burial will be in Our Savior's Cemetery, Valders.
Mrs. Nelson was born Nov. 8, 1878, at Valders. The former Sophie Evenson, she was married to Mr. Nelson, June 7, 1905, at Our Savior's Church.
She was a Gold Star Mother, member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Women's Federation and Church Circle. Her husband died 17 years ago and a son, Wayne, was killed in World War II. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors are three sons, Clayon of Minneapolis, Minn., Walter of Turkey and Russel of San Bernardino, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Hartley (Lola) Torrison of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Fred (Emilett) Lane of Tipton, Ind., Miss Harriet Nelson of Chicago, and Mrs. Ed. (Janet) Anderson of Manitowoc; three brothers, Evan of Sheldon, N.D., and Clarence and Elmer of Valders; a sister, Mrs. Emma Sanders of Los Angeles; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Christianson Funeral Home, Valders, after 3 p.m.
Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday and then at the church.
