Mrs. George H. Thompson, 71, of Rt. 2, Reedsville, died Friday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. A.B. Holland will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson, the former Emma Snortum, was born April 17, 1884 at Shirley, Brown County. She was married June 20, 1906 to George Thompson and the couple farmed the Thompson homestead in the Town of Rockland. She was a past president and life member of the Women’s Missionary Federation of the church and a member of the Riverview Homemakers.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband; four sons, Edwin of Tucson, Ariz., Norman of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, Stanley of Milwaukee and George E. of Menasha; three daughters, Mrs. William Dayton of Valders, Mrs. John Reichert of LaGrange, Ill., and Mrs. Henry Pleuss of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; a brother, Albert Snortum of Chilton; three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Knutson of Valders, Mrs. Charles Walsh of Milwaukee and Mrs. Phil Allard of Green Bay and 19 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Reedsville Funeral Home after 3 pm Sunday until 9:30 am on Monday, when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in states until the hour of service.
