Mrs. Anders Thompson, 80, of Gilman, Wis., died this morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Vandre of Sheboygan. Born in Manitowoc County on March 30, 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anders Halverson Madson, she was married to Anders Thompson on April 3, 1902. The couple lived on a farm near Valders until 1929 when they moved to Gilman. A former member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society at Valders, she is at present a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society at Gilman.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. A.J. (Esther) Fenlon of Valders and Mrs. Lester (Jennie) Vandre of Sheboygan; two sons, Arthur of Sheboygan and Reuel of Gilman; two brothers, Alfred of Rt. 1, Manitowoc and the Rev. Norman Madson of Mankato, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Knudson of Valders, Mrs. Alma Christenson and Miss Jennie Knudson of Valders, both of Manitowoc and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church at Valders with the Rev. Jerry Moe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Berge Funeral Home at Valders from 3 pm Tuesday until 11 am Wednesday and then at the church until the time of service.
