Orin Thompson, 71, of Valders, died Friday afternoon in Holy Family Extended Care Facility, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday in Faith Lutheran Church, Valders and burial will be in Our Savior Cemetery, Valders.
Mr. Thompson was born July 26, 1907 in Valders, son of the late Thomas and Mary Johnsrud Thompson. He attended McKinley School, Manitowoc, Valders High School and University of Wisconsin – Madison. He married Helen Lauderdale July 20, 1940 in Elkhorn, Wis., operating a farm in the Town of Cato until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of Valders Lions Club and Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, David of Fond du Lac and John of Madison; a daughter, Marilyn of St. Paul, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Olivia) Helgeson of Valders and Mrs. Edward (Agnes) Hampton of Concord, Calif., and three grandchildren. His wife and son preceded him in death.
Friends may call in Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, 4 pm to 9 pm Sunday and in the church Monday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
