Orin C. Ulness, 74, of rural Valders, passed away Saturday morning, March 30, 1 99 1 , at his residence. Funeral services will be at 1 1 a.m., on Tuesday, April 2, 1991, at Faith Lutheran Church, in Valders, Rev. Carl Peters officiating. Burial to follow in Our Saviors Cemetery, Valders.
He was born May 21, 1916, at Valders, the son of the late Oscar and Clara Gilbertson Ulness. He attended Valders Schools and was a 1934 graduate of Valders High School. He was also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin -Madison Short Course. He farmed in the Town of Liberty, Manitowoc County his entire life.
He married Dorothy Bender on June 21, 1941, in Cleveland. He was a member of the Manitowoc County Mutual Insurance Board, the Valders Senior Citizens, a former Valders School Board Member for 15 yrs the current president of the Manitowoc County Baseball Oldtimers Association, a member of the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association, a member of Faith Lutheran Cemetery Board and various other positions.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Walton (Ava), of rural Valders; Loren (Carol), of rural Valders; Brian, of rural Valders and his special friend, Gemma Trainor; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marian (Dan) Gilbert, of Minneapolis, Minn.; Karen (Bruce) Bosshart, of Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Oscar Ulness, of rural Valders; one sister, Alyce Bevan, of Cape Coral, Fla.; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded In death by his step-father, Elmer M. Evenson. - Friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church, in Valders, from 6 - 9 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials will be appreciated to Faith Lutheran Church. The Christianson-Deja Funeral Home is serving the family.
