Services Held Friday For A. M. Wigen
Alfred M. Wigen, long time resident of Drake, passed away at the hospital in Harvey Wednesday afternoon, May 16th following a month’s illness.
Masonic funeral services were held Friday afternoon, May 18th from the Odd Fellows Hall and his remains were shipped to Quary, Wis., to be buried beside the graves of his parents. His brother, Charles Wigen of Quary, Wis., and a brother-in-law, Albert Helgeson, of Velders, Wis., were here for the services and accompanied the body to Wisconsin.
The deceased who was 65 years, 10 months and 13 days of age at the time of his passing came to North Dakota shortly after the turn of the century and engaged in banking business at Berwick with a partner. After the partnership was dissolved, he worked in banks at Orrin and Drake and also carried on a real estate business of his own.
He leaves to mourn his passing his many friends in McHenry County, two sisters, Mrs. Albert Helgeson of Velders, Wis., and Mrs. A. C. Huebner of West Allis, Wis., and two brothers, Clarence and Simon, both of Quary, Wis.
