Wallace Coy Calhoun, 86, formerly of Bryson City, passed away Saturday August 18, 2012 at his residence in Asheville,NC.
A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late L.B. and Ivalee Jones Calhoun. He was a member of the Bryson City Baptist Church. Wallace was owner an operator of Wallace's Grocery and Bait Center for over 20 years. He was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Calhoun and one grandson, Gregg Wright.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret,
son and his wife of Gaffney, NC,
Son of Blacksburg,SC
son and his wife of Raleigh,NC; four grandchildren,
one sister of Tenn. and
Brother of Bethel,NC
Brother of High Point,NC.
