Robert C. Holt, aged 77 years, died yesterday at 3 p.m. at the home of his son-in-law, W.J. Petty, 923 Sheldon avenue. He was well known in the city and greatly esteemed. The funeral will take place at the residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. B. Lacy Hoge of Spurgeon Memorial Baptist church. He is survived by six daughters and one son. Burial will be in Riverside.

Robert C. Holt, Pvt., Co. G, 22nd Battalion Virginia Infantry; enlisted at Amelia Springs for 12 mos. Present March 4, 1862, re-enlisted May 2, 1862. He sustained a gunshot wound to the left hand during the battle of Gaines Mill June 27, 1862 and admitted to Howard's Grove hospital on July 7, 1862; transferred to Banner's hospital July 14, 1862. Given a 30 day furlough; attached as a nurse or hospital guard at Farmville G. H. from July 1863-July 1864. Submitted application for retirement to Invalid Corps, granted October 4, 1862. P. O. Jetersville.
