Mary Angeline Whitcanack, daughter of Henry and Mary Hull, was born March 20, 1851, in Van Buren county, Iowa, and departed this life Dec. 27, 1922, at her home in Van Buren county, Io., aged 71 years, 9 months, and 7 days, having spent her entire life in the county where she was born.

She was married Sept. 7, 1871, to William Hiram Whitcanack. To this union were born five sons and three daughters, all of whom survive her, namely: Mrs. Eva Gandy of Des Moines, Ia.; Mrs. Mary Ruddell of Glendora, Calif.; Mrs. Emma Hull and John F., of Cantril, Ia.; Charley of Des Moines, Ia.; Ira of Lebanon, Ia.; Willis D., of Des Moines, Ia., and Harrison B., of Keosauqua, Iowa. She leaves to mourn their loss besides her husband and family, two brothers, George and Frank Hull, 22 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends in the community where she spent her life.

In her young life she united with the Presbyterian church of Lebanon, where she remained ever faithful in the belief of her Savior. Mrs. Whitcanack was a kind hearted woman and never tired of doing good things to help those in need. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Lebanon, Saturday, Dec. 30, 1922, at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Wiley. Burial was at the Lebanon cemetery.
