Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lillias Susan Nicholas Engemann, 88, peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at East Lake Care Center in Provo, Utah.

She was born July 20, 1912 in Summerville, Pennsylvania to Robert Philip Nicholas and Jeanne Graham Armstrong. Her family moved to Bicknell, Indiana in 1915 where they joined the LDS Church. They later moved to Detroit, Michigan where she met Paul Robert Engemann, whom she later married on February 9, 1929, with their marriage being solemnized

on July 5, 1950 in the Idaho Falls Temple. She was an active member of the church, serving in many positions, including temple worker, alongside her husband, in the Los Angeles and Provo Temples. She loved and worked hard at doing genealogy.

For many years she worked as a bookkeeper and office manager in the recording industry in Los Angeles, California. She was known for her neat and meticulous record keeping. In her work, she interacted with many of the top personalities in the entertainment industry and was loved by all of them. They lovingly called her "Mom Engemann", and she indeed seemed as a mom to many of them with her insightful advice and counsel. She was always willing to serve in community affairs, such as PTA and school board activities.

She and her husband loved the children of the neighborhood wherever they lived, and their home was a "welcome station" full of fun and unconditional love. She loved poetry, literature and music and had a beautiful voice. She was very sweet and refined and very much a lady.

Her greatest loves were the gospel of Jesus Christ and her family.

She is survived by her children, P. Karl (Gerri), Jean King (Edmund), Robert P. (Betty) and William H. (Kathryn), 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving caretakers, and her roommate Pam, at East Lake Care Center, all of whom showed only great love and respect for her while in their care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2001, at 1 p.m., at the Edgemont 13th Ward LDS Chapel, 4210 North Foothill Dr, Provo. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel, from 11:30- 12:30, prior to services.

Interment, East Lawn Memorial Hills, immediately following funeral. Services under the direction of Berg Mortuary.
