Dorothy Mary Houf, 91, of Kingdom City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2004, at the Fulton Manor Care Center in Fulton, Missouri. She was born on March 11, 1912, in Portland, Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank V. and Antonia (Masek) Kresl. On February 14, 1933, she was united in marriage to Paul Houf. He proceded her in death on June 28, 1977.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Gary and Larry Houf, both of Rolla, Missouri; one daughter, Annette Fenley, of St. James, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Todd Houf, Rachael Drabezyk, Logan Houf, Ryan Houf, Trana Madsen, Sharon Farrens, Randy Fenley; six great-grandchildren, Michael Finley, Jaclyn Farrens, A.J. Farrens, Sianna Madsen, Paul Houf, and Laney Drabezyk; other relations and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, two brothers, Joseph Kresl and Frank Kresl, Jr., preceded her in death.

Mrs. Houf worked as a schoolteacher at the Cedar Hill School in Portland, Missouri, before her marriage and was also a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, McCredie Women's Club, and the Democratic Women's Club.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Fulton, Missouri. Interment will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton, MO. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Portland Cemetery Fund, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
