No marker was found for Josiah but two of his daughters are buried here and one of them has the following inscription on her stone: "Josiah Flagg who enlisted in this state, served throughout the Revolutionary War, and died a poor man."

The following information was submitted by sbhutson (#47027398):

"His son Josiah Jr's bio here tells a bit about Josiah the Patriot
http://www.masshist.org/database/viewer.php?old=1&item_id=208
It reads
The elder Flagg was a jeweler, patriot, Revolutionary War soldier, and a pioneer musician and music publisher, who, working with Paul Revere, published A Collection of the Best Psalm Tunes in 1764.
And Josiah Flagg's DAR record gives these dates:
Birth 3-28-1737 BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS
Death: 1794 BOSTON -PROB MASSACHUSETTS
and that
he Lived in Providence, RI
he served in ELLIOT'S REGT

MA Town Records on ancestry.com "Index Death 1700-1800" shows
Colonel Josiah Flagg died in Dec 1794 and notes "Mass Magazine)

His wife was Elizabeth Hawkes"

Suggested edit: I was watching a u tube video which showed the bell ringers in the old north church where Paul Revere put the lanterns in the church steeple to warn that the British were coming. 1 if by land 2 of by sea. Josiah Flagg a distant relative of my sons..is on the list of bell ringers at age 13 under Paul reveres name. So I would love if you can add this to his bio.
Thank you
