McDONALD

Marie Estaleen McDonald, daughter of Lee Roy and Angeline Agan, was born Sept. 18, 1912. At the age of 83, Marie departed this life on Jan. 4, 1996, at the Chariton Manor where she had resided the past nine years.

Marie was born and reared in rural Lucas County, attending school at Pleasant Valley.

On Dec. 2, 1933, Marie was united in marriage to William Everett McDonald. This union was blessed with four children. Marie and Everett resided in rural Lucas County in the early years of their marriage and moved to Chariton in 1952.

Marie accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age and devoted her life to maintaining a warm and loving Christian home in which to rear her family.

She delighted in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings were a time of joy for her and she would spend hours cooking and preparing for these occasions.

Marie was active in helping each of her children open and operate a restaurant. In Chariton she will be remembered by Country Chef customers, where she donated many hours to her daughter's former business.

Marie is survived by her children: Walton and wife Sally of Albia, Angie and husband Don Cox of Mesquite, Nev., Avon and husband Dave Feisel of Grinnell and Wyatt and wife Dolly of Attica; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Maggie Moore of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 8, at the Fielding Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis St. Lawrence officiating. Serving as bearers were David McDonald, Tyler Feisel, Mick McDonald, Rick Frey, Steve McDonald and Curt Cackler.
