ED BERLIN
Ed Berlin, 80, retired farmer and life
long resident of Monroe City, died
Tuesday evening, August 13, in St.
Elizabeth hospital, Hannibal. He had
been in failing health for the past
several years and had been in and out
of the hospital for the past month and a
half.
Mr. Berlin was born February 28, 1883,
the son of William and Dorothy Richter
Berlin, at Burlington, Iowa, coming to
Monroe City in 1910. He was married in
Monroe City, August 23,1911, to Shirley
Mae King, who survives. Other survivors
include two daughters, Mrs.Marvin (Betty)
Gay of Hunnewell, Mrs. Leonard (Frances)
Long of Long Beach, California; two sons.
Clyde Berlin of Monroe City and Buell
(Bud) Berlin of Philadelphia, MO.; a sister
Mrs. Dorothy Bowers of Augusta, Kansas;
14 grand children and nine great-grand-
children.
He was preceded in death by three
brothers, one sister and a daughter. Mr.
Berlin was member of the Lutheran church
at Burlington.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30
Friday afternoon, August 16, at the Garner
Funeral Home, with Rev. Glen Ruhl
officiating.
Burial will be in Andrew Chapel cemetery
near Warren, MO.
Pallbearers will be George McCleod,
Charles Tipton, Richard Gordanier, E. M.
Dexter, Everett Jones and Howard Gosney
