James was the son of Gladys, who died in the early 1950s, and Lewis V. Chambers, who died in 1973. He was the younger brother of Pauline Jenny Chambers Blaisdell Slack, who died in 2010. He was the step-son of Ida Jane Grant Chambers of Randolph, VT, who was the second wife of Lewis Victor Chambers and who died on 09/01/2001 in Orlando, FL. James graduated from Randolph H. S. in June, 1945. He had six children -- Ernest, Ann, Caroline, Rose, Ricky and Penny, all of whom are alive at the time of this writing (08/23/12). James half-sister, Laura Jean Chambers Somerville, died in August, 2000 in VT and is buried in the same plot, in Pleasant View Cemetery in Randolph, VT, with Lewis V., Ida J. and James V., and Ida's parents -- Luna Hatch Grant and Fred Grant. Laura Jean's husband died in June 2012 in NC; his ashes will be interred in that same plot. James's half-brother, Lewis R. Chambers, lives in N.Y.C for nearly a half-century.
