Minnie May Enfield Sparks was born in Boone county, Iowa, October 17, 1869, and departed this life December 12, 1922, being 53 years, 1 month and 25 days old. She united in marriage to Alph P. Sparks December 23, 1886, and to this union were born four children, Manly and Edna, who preceded her to the home above, Corbet of Waldron, Kans., and Manford, living at home.
Mrs. Sparks united with the M. E. church at Boone, Iowa, and upon moving to the Vining community in 1897, placed her membership with the Ridgway congregational church in which she was a faithful, consistent member and later placed her membership with the M.E. church in Vining, remaining a faithful member until death.
There remain to mourn a husband, two sons, three sisters, four grandchildren and a host of friends.
Friends from a distance to attend the funeral were: Mrs. Barns and son of Boone, Iowa, sister and nephew of deceased, Mrs. Ollie Drennon and family of Perry; Mrs. Minnie Mathews of Vining; Mrs. Mable McCuly of Gibbon; Roy Enfield, Perryton, Tex.; and Mrs. Verdie Clark of Cherokee.
Funeral services were held at Vining church conducted by Rev. Heckart, assisted by Rev. Tatman and the body was laid to rest in the Jet cemetery.
