Doyle was president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1534, past chairman of the National Council of Amalgamated Trailways Divisions, and a member of the executive committee of the Central La. Labor Council.
He was a member of the American Legion, Woodman of the World, and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Elva Kretzinger Doyle of Alexandria; a son, Herman Clayton Doyle Jr. of Alexandria; two brothers, Willie Doyle of Pitkin and Wavy Harry Doyle of Alexandria; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Thompson of Pitkin, Mrs. Goldie Mae Davis of Blanchard, and Mrs. Lonie Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla., and one grandson.
Services were to be held at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros. with the Rev. David Felder officiating. Burial was to be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
